As Chartered Quantity Surveyors this is our core business activity where we provide expert quantity surveying services to businesses, construction contractors, sub-contractors and private clients across all areas of construction.
Led by John Johnson, a Fellow of The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, we ensure that the quantity surveying services are carried out in a manner which stringently controls the financial aspects of your project.
From feasibility appraisals and cost planning, the preparation of periodic interim valuations and cost reporting for work undertaken as the construction proceeds, through to the agreement of the final account, we are by your side to ensure the financial elements of your project are properly monitored and controlled.
A key aspect of any construction project is the procurement of services, whether this be that of designers and other specialist consultants, or the builder and specialist contractors.
Ensuring that the most appropriate and beneficial approach is followed is essential, as this often differs from project to project. We coordinate and manage this process for you, from compiling lists of appropriate specialists, to preparing and issuing relevant documentation, reviewing quotations, and preparing the necessary contractual documents once you have chosen your preferred partners.
Often the main aspect of procurement is selecting and appointing the right construction contractor. This is a complex process which needs the correct approach and a detailed knowledge of the construction industry.
Our role here is to own and manage this process, from the establishment of a list of suitable contractors, to the preparation and issuing of tender documentation, the analysis of returned tenders, and the appointment of the successful contractor.
We undertake the whole of this process on your behalf, keeping you regularly informed of progress, and ensuring that the most appropriate contractor is appointed for your project.
Establishing an appropriate project budget and then controlling costs as work proceeds is vital to the financial success of any scheme.
Our role starts with the preparation of an initial feasibility study and extends through a full financial appraisal of the project during the concept stage, to the preparation of a detailed and quantified elemental cost plan.
This establishes a project budget against which all subsequent project costs are monitored and controlled, from tender returns to the final account.
Monthly cost reporting throughout the construction phase and a stringent review of final accounts ensures that there’s a detailed focus on costs throughout the life of the project.
Carefully managing costs provides you with the comfort of knowing that any financial risks are always mitigated as far as possible.
Whether you are undertaking a residential or commercial construction project, Ashdan has successfully managed the procurement and delivery of a multitude of projects for clients in all sectors. Take a closer took at some of our case studies.
